Banking applications ask for more than a photo and signature. IBPS and SBI also require a left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration, each with its own pixel and file-size rule. Why applications get rejected
- Photo above the strict 50 KB cap — there is no grace margin
- Signature or declaration written in capital letters
- Blue ink used where black ink is required (signature and declaration)
- Thumb impression too blurred for the ridges to be visible
How to prepare your files
- Take a passport-style photo on a white background and size it to 200×230 px, 20–50 KB.
- Sign in black ink on white paper; size it to 140×60 px, 10–20 KB.
- Take your left thumb impression in blue or black ink; size it to 240×240 px, 20–50 KB.
- Copy the declaration text from the notification in black ink, English, running hand; size it to 800×400 px, 50–100 KB.

Frequently asked questions
Do SBI and IBPS use the same specs?
SBI PO and Clerk use essentially the same photo, signature, thumb and declaration specifications as IBPS. Confirm on your own notification.
Why is my declaration rejected?
