TNPSC Photo & Signature Requirements (2026)
One-time registration specs, the name-and-date rule, and why TNPSC uploads get rejected.
TNPSC's one-time registration makes your photo and signature long-lived: the files you upload once are reused across Group 1, Group 2, Group 4 and VAO applications. TNPSC is also one of the few state commissions that requires the candidate's name and the photo date printed on the photograph, and it enforces both a minimum and maximum file size — so an over-compressed photo fails just like an oversized one.

Why applications get rejected
- Missing the printed name and date at the bottom of the photograph
- Photo outside the 20–50 KB window — below the floor is rejected too
- An off-white or coloured backdrop instead of pure white
- A signature in capital letters or on ruled paper
How to prepare your files
- Take a recent photo (within 3 months) on a pure white background.
- Print your name and the photo date at the bottom of the image.
- Resize it to 3.5×4.5 cm within 20–50 KB.
- Sign in running hand on unruled white paper and size it to 10–20 KB.
